Mechatronics Engineering
About Mechatronics Engineering Department
Mechatronics Engineering is a multidisciplinary field, that offers the unique advantage of combining the core principles of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Control Engineering. The Department runs a five-year programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Mechatronics Engineering. It is built on a solid foundation in mathematics, basic sciences, engineering sciences, and general studies and structured to support specialization while offering the flexibility to explore approved courses across other fields. The curriculum is designed to foster both technical competence and a strong understanding of the human context in which engineering solutions are applied, thereby producing well-rounded professionals. The general philosophy of the Mechatronic Engineering is to produce graduates with hard, soft, and research skills that are useful in analysing, evaluating, designing, developing, manufacturing, procuring, marketing, managing, and maintaining the mechanical, electrical, electronics, communication, information processing, and operating systems embedded in all robotics and mechatronics system and devices used by individuals, and in private and public organisations and allied industries in accordance with National and Global community values, including National Policy on Industrialisation and Self-Reliance. Hence, the programme aims to produce graduates with sufficient academic background and adequate practical experience to solve engineering problems. It is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, and instructional resources required for educating students in key areas of Mechatronics Engineering. We invite you to join us.
