Prof. Isaac Oluwadare BUSAYO

Prof. Isaac Oluwadare BUSAYO, hails from Ogotun-Ekiti, in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, where he was born on 10th December, 1961.

For his post-secondary education, he attended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan respectively. He holds a Diploma in Library Science, ABU, Zaria (1987), a Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling (1996), Master in Library and Information Studies (2001) and PhD in Media Resources Management (2016), all from the University of Ibadan.

Prof. Busayo started his Librarianship career as a Library Officer at the then University of Ado Ekiti (UNAD), now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti from October, 1987. He rose through the rank and file to become an Assistant Chief Library Officer in 2002 and Librarian 1 in 2005. He was appointed by the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti as a Principal Librarian in 2006. He relocated to The University of Education Ikere-Ekiti (TUNEDIK) as a Senior Librarian and Ag. University Librarian in October 2008. In like manner, the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta appointed him in October, 2009 as a Principal Librarian and Head, Technical Services Department, from where he transferred his service to Federal University Oye-Ekiti with effect from September, 2013 as a Principal Librarian and Head, Technical Services Department. He became Deputy University Librarian in October, 2017; later, Deputy University Librarian and Head of Ikole Campus Libraries from January–September, 2020; and thereafter, he was appointed as University Librarian, from October, 2020, until his current appointment as the pioneer University Librarian, Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTESI).

Isaac Oluwadare Busayo became a Professor in October, 2023, after fulfilling the due academic processes. He has published extensively in the field of Library and Information Science, in both Local and International Journals of Librarianship and he has contributed significantly to the frontiers of knowledge, with about fifty publications to his credit. He is happily married to Mrs Iyabode Dupe Busayo, an Administrator, and the marriage is blessed with children and grandchildren.
