Dr. Joyce Ogunyemi

Dr. Joyce Ogunyemi holds a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, specialising in increasing access to higher education.

With an extensive and impactful career, she has made significant contributions to education, international development, environmental conservation, and human rights advocacy. Her work spans diverse global contexts, including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Rwanda, and the United States.

Throughout her career, she has served in various roles, including Consultant, Researcher, Program Coordinator, Advocacy Officer, Curriculum Facilitator, and Academic Tutor. Her experience includes a remarkable five-year tenure as a Math tutor in a Manchester male prison, contributing to transformative education within correctional facilities. Currently, she serves as a Dissertation Advisor at Gwynedd Mercy University in Philadelphia, having previously held the role of Programme Evaluation Assessor. Her most recent work also includes teaching Math and Art of Thinking at the Houston Independent School District in Texas.

Dr. Joyce’s early career in the not-for-profit sector was driven by her passion for education and advocacy. She implemented data-driven strategies to support targeted populations, ensuring meaningful and impactful learning opportunities. As the Coordinator of a start-up human rights organization, she successfully collaborated with local and international partners, engaged with governments, and secured vital grants to advance human rights causes.

Her proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders and influence policy underscores her commitment to creating lasting change in education and social justice.
