The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has commended the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of staff of the institution, describing them as the driving force behind the University’s steady growth and rising profile.
In a statement to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the commitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff has continued to position the University as a fast-rising institution with a clear vision for excellence.
“Today, we celebrate not just labour, but the spirit of sacrifice, resilience, and commitment that defines the FUTES-IYIN workforce. Our progress as a University, within such a short period, is a direct reflection of the passion and sense of responsibility demonstrated daily by our staff,” he said.
Prof. Aribisala further acknowledged the unique challenges that come with building a new institution, stating that the collective resolve of staff members to deliver despite limitations has been remarkable.
“Building a new University is never without its challenges, but what stands out at FUTES-IYIN is the unwavering determination of our workforce to rise above these challenges and create a system that works. That resilience is what has sustained our momentum,” he added.
He reiterated the Management’s commitment to staff welfare, capacity development, and the creation of an enabling environment that supports productivity and professional growth.
“As a Management, we understand that our people are our greatest asset. We will continue to prioritise their welfare, provide opportunities for growth, and ensure that excellence is not only expected but supported,” the Vice-Chancellor assured.
Prof. Aribisala also urged staff to remain steadfast and continue to uphold the values of discipline, innovation, and service, noting that the future of the institution depends largely on their continued dedication.
“The journey ahead is even more promising. I encourage all staff to remain focused, collaborative, and committed to the ideals that define us as a University of Technology and Environmental Sciences. Together, we will build a legacy of excellence,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor concluded by congratulating workers across the country and globally, particularly the FUTES-IYIN community, for their invaluable contributions to national development and institutional progress.
