The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has commended the smooth and orderly commencement of the institution’s first semester examinations, describing the exercise as a reflection of effective planning and collective responsibility.

The examinations, which began on Monday, were conducted across faculties and departments for the University’s pioneer students.

Aribisala, who undertook an inspection tour of examination halls within the University’s take-off site, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, coordination, and adherence to examination guidelines.

He noted that the calm and organized atmosphere observed during the exercise reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and integrity.

“What we have seen today is quite commendable. The level of organization, the conduct of our staff, and the seriousness displayed by our students are all indicative of a system that is working,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

He further praised members of staff involved in the conduct and supervision of the examinations for their professionalism and dedication to duty.

“I must sincerely appreciate our staff for their diligence and commitment. Their excellent conduct has contributed significantly to the smooth take-off of these examinations,” he added.

As part of the tour, the Vice-Chancellor also visited the University Medical Centre, where he assessed the level of readiness of the health unit to respond to any emergencies during the examination period.

He commended the personnel of the Medical Centre for their proactive approach and preparedness, noting that student welfare remains a top priority of the University Management.

“The role of the Medical Centre is critical, especially during examinations. I am impressed with the level of readiness and professionalism demonstrated by the team. This gives us confidence that the welfare of our students is well catered for,” Aribisala stated.

He reassured students and staff of the University’s commitment to maintaining a conducive and secure environment throughout the examination period.

The inspection, according to him, is part of ongoing efforts by the University Management to ensure a hitch-free, credible, and student-friendly examination process, even as the institution continues to strengthen its academic structures at this foundational stage.
