The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has assured the leadership of the Ekiti Forum of Federal Establishments that the university will remain an active and committed member of the Forum in its collective drive towards institutional collaboration and development in the state.

Giving the assurance on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Forum, led by its Chairman, Mrs. Omotola Oluyemisi, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the university’s readiness to continually identify with initiatives capable of promoting unity, cooperation, and national development among federal establishments in Ekiti State.

The visit, according to Mrs. Oluyemisi, was to felicitate Prof. Aribisala on his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University and to officially recognize and welcome him to the Forum as a member.

Commending the pace of development within the institution, the Forum Chairman described the Vice-Chancellor and his management team as “a round peg in a round hole,” noting that the university’s rapid growth within a short period reflects visionary leadership, strategic planning, and commitment to excellence.

“What we have seen unfolded within this short period is highly commendable. The level of organization, developmental drive, and institutional vision clearly shows that the university is being managed by people who understand leadership and administration,” Mrs. Oluyemisi stated.

She further used the opportunity to seek strategic partnership and collaboration with the university in areas capable of strengthening institutional relationships, knowledge-sharing, and developmental initiatives across federal establishments in the state.

Similarly, the Forum leadership informed the Vice-Chancellor of its intention to honour the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, with a meritorious award during its forthcoming annual public lecture in recognition of his numerous contributions to institutional development, Ekiti State, and the nation at large.

While assuring the university of continued synergy and mutual cooperation, Mrs. Oluyemisi emphasized the Forum’s commitment to sustaining cordial relationships among member institutions for collective growth and development.

In his response, Prof. Aribisala appreciated the leadership of the Forum for identifying with the university, particularly at its foundational stage, noting that such recognition remains highly encouraging to the institution’s vision and growth trajectory.

“For us as a young institution, this visit is not just symbolic; it is encouraging. It shows that the university is already being recognized as an important stakeholder within the federal establishment community in Ekiti State, and we do not take that for granted,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

Prof. Aribisala assured the delegation that FUTES-IYIN would actively participate in the activities and programmes of the Forum, stressing that the institution remains committed to partnerships capable of advancing development, innovation, and institutional progress.

“Our place in the Forum will not be vacant. We understand the importance of collaboration and institutional relationships, and we are ready to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of the Forum,” he added.

The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated the Chairman of the Forum, Mrs. Oluyemisi, for emerging as a female leader in such a strategic position, describing her emergence as a reflection of competence, resilience, and the growing impact of women in leadership and public service.

He further reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development, noting that the institution would continue to pursue strategic initiatives capable of positioning it as a globally competitive university.

Joining the Vice-Chancellor to receive the Forum leadership were the Registrar, Mr. Oluwole Dada, and the University Librarian, Prof. Isaac Oluwadare Busayo.

The Forum of Federal Establishments is a body comprising of Chief Executive Officers and Heads of Federal Establishments across Ekiti State, with a membership strength of over 70 federal establishments, serving as a strategic platform for institutional collaboration, professional networking, policy engagement, and collective developmental initiatives within the state.
