The Management of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin-Ekiti, has reaffirmed its commitment to faith, discipline, and academic excellence as the institution held its February Monthly Prayer Programme Tuesday.

The prayer session brought together members of the University Management, staff, and students to seek divine guidance and dedicate the affairs of the University to God, in line with the institution’s vision of holistic development.

Speaking at the programme, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Aribisala, reiterated that the monthly prayer meeting, which holds on the first Tuesday of every month, reflects the University’s belief that spiritual grounding is essential to sustainable growth and purposeful leadership. 

He emphasized that faith, discipline, and sound character remain non-negotiable values at FUTES.

The Vice-Chancellor urged students to uphold good conduct at all times and remain focused on their academic pursuits, stressing that excellence thrives best in an atmosphere of discipline and responsibility. 

He also commended members of staff for their dedication and support in nurturing students and contributing to the steady development of the young institution.

A scriptural exhortation delivered during the programme by Prof. Olumide Ogundipe focused on the power of faith and total trust in God, reminding the University community that progress and success are attainable when human efforts are anchored on divine guidance. 

This was followed by collective prayers for the University, its leadership, staff, students, and the nation.

Professor Aribisala further reaffirmed the University Management’s commitment to improving the welfare of staff and students, strengthening academic structures, and providing an enabling environment for teaching, learning, and research.
