As part of its commitment to continuous professional development and institutional excellence, members of staff of the Registry of Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), on Thursday participated in the 15th Annual Registry Lecture of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State.

Led by the Registrar, Mr. Oluwole Dada, the University delegation, joined other registry professionals and higher education administrators from across the country at the annual intellectual gathering, themed "Quality or Quantity: Rethinking Higher Education Administration in 21st-Century Nigeria."

The lecture provided a valuable platform for critical reflections on the evolving responsibilities of university administrators, the need to uphold quality in institutional governance, and strategies for repositioning Nigeria's higher education system to meet emerging global realities.

For the FUTES-IYIN team, the outing was another opportunity to deepen professional knowledge, exchange ideas with colleagues from other institutions, and explore innovative administrative practices capable of strengthening service delivery within the University Registry.

The participation aligns with the vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Aribisala, to build a world-class institution through continuous learning, institutional partnerships, and regular exposure of staff to best practices in higher education administration.

Since assuming office, the Vice-Chancellor has consistently encouraged members of staff to participate in conferences, workshops, professional trainings and other knowledge-sharing engagements that enhance competence and contribute to institutional growth.

This is not the first time the University Registry has participated in such professional engagements. In March 2026, the Unit also took part in the 2026 Registry Discourse hosted by the University of Ibadan, where participants engaged in robust discussions on emerging trends and contemporary issues in university administration.

Professor Aribisala believes that inter-institutional collaborations and professional exchanges remain indispensable to building an efficient university system, as institutions thrive when their personnel continually learn, adapt to new realities, and adopt global best practices.
