The Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has approved the appointment of Professor Olumide Moses Ogundipe as the University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Partnerships).

Contained in his letter of appointment, signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Oluwole Dada, and dated 19th July, 2026, the appointment follows Professor Ogundipe’s election at the meeting of Senate held on Wednesday, 24th June, 2026, and takes retrospective effect from Monday, 13th July, 2026.

The appointment is for an initial tenure of two years, in accordance with the University's enabling law and relevant statutes governing the appointment of principal officers.

As pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Ogundipe will assist the Vice-Chancellor in matters relating to academic leadership and administration, while providing strategic direction for research, innovation and institutional collaborations, among others.

The Governing Council expressed confidence in Professor Ogundipe's capacity to bring his extensive experience to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and development of the University.

Professor Ogundipe, a distinguished academic in the Department of Civil Engineering, is widely respected for his scholarship, administrative competence and commitment to academic excellence.
