As the world celebrates Easter in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has urged Christian faithful to embrace the virtues of selflessness, sacrifice, and peaceful living.

In his Easter message to the university community and the general public, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the season serves as a profound reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made for humanity and the need for individuals to reflect such values in their daily lives.

He noted that Easter is not only a period of celebration but also a time for deep reflection on love, humility, and service to others.

“The essence of Easter goes beyond festivities. It calls for a renewed commitment to selflessness, compassion, and peaceful coexistence with one another,” he stated.

Prof. Aribisala further urged members of the FUTES community, particularly students and staff, to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice by contributing positively to the growth and development of the institution and society at large.

“As a university community, we must reflect the values of discipline, tolerance, and mutual respect. These are the building blocks of a progressive and harmonious society,” he added.

The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the importance of peace as a catalyst for development, stressing that no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of conflict and division.

“Peaceful living remains fundamental to sustainable development. I encourage everyone to promote unity and shun actions that could disrupt the peace within and beyond our campus,” he said.

While wishing Christian faithful a joyful Easter celebration, Prof. Aribisala called on all Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to nation-building, noting that collective responsibility and shared values are essential for a better and prosperous society.

“Let this season inspire us to be better individuals and responsible citizens, committed to building a society anchored on peace, love, and shared prosperity,” he concluded.
