The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin-Ekiti, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has charged students of the University to embrace diligence, discipline and commitment to learning as critical pillars for academic excellence and personal development.

Prof. Aribisala gave the charge during an inspection visit to the Physics Laboratory, where he interacted with students of the Department of Physics during one of their practical sessions earlier today. 

The visit formed part of the Vice-Chancellor’s routine engagements aimed at monitoring academic activities and ensuring that the University’s vision of quality teaching and learning is steadily being realized.

Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that practical exposure remains central to science and technology education, noting that diligence in laboratory work would not only sharpen their skills but also prepare them for real-world problem solving. 

He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the facilities provided by the University and remain focused on their academic goals.

Prof. Aribisala expressed satisfaction with the level of engagement and enthusiasm displayed by the students, describing their conduct and participation as reassuring signs of the University’s steady growth within a short period of academic activities.

One notable highlight of the visit was the completion of plumbing works in the laboratories, ensuring a steady supply of water, an essential requirement for effective laboratory operations. 

The Vice-Chancellor recalled his earlier commitment to ensure that all laboratories in the University’s take-off site are fully functional, assuring the students that the management would continue to prioritize infrastructure and learning facilities.

Students, in turn, expressed excitement at having practical sessions early in the academic calendar, describing it as a strong indication of the University’s seriousness and commitment to hands-on learning.

When it comes to administrative responsiveness and academic planning, Prof. Aribisala reaffirmed that the management of FUTES remains deliberate, proactive and action-driven. 

He noted that the University would continue to build on its current momentum, driven by a shared vision to position FUTES as a centre of excellence in technology and environmental sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor reiterated the management’s resolve to sustain the pace of development across academic, infrastructural and administrative fronts, while urging students to match the institution’s commitment with dedication and excellence in their studies.
